Opening Doors
From 1996-2012, the Echo Theater was a hub for KKK and neo-Nazi groups, a place where hate grew and spread in society.**Today, the Echo Theater is no longer a place of “destruction” but rather “construction”. **Over the past year, a multi-disciplined team of educators, historians, architects, students, civil rights and faith-based leaders have worked together on a design true to our goal: creating an experience that connects the narrative of the Echo Theater to the struggle for social justice and civil rights in American history. We are launching our new Opening Doors campaign to raise the remaining funds to complete the Echo Theater. We are also unveiling design, renovation, and budget plans as part of our new "Visitor Journey".Look below to get a preview of what is coming to the Echo Theater!
The mission of The Echo Project has always been about Opening Doors - both physically opening the doors to a building that is safe and peaceful for the public and opening doors for new opportunities, new conversations, and new hopes and dreams for ALL.We need your help to complete this important work.
